John Cody Printup

John Cody Printup, 82, of Batavia, died Tuesday (February 26, 2013) at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born in the Town of Alabama on June 13, 1930 a son of the late Cody and Florence Patterson Printup.

Mr. Printup was retired from Iron Workers Union Local # 33 in Rochester.  He served with the US Army during the Korean War and was the recipient of the United States Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and a  Purple Heart.

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy M. White Printup, three daughters, Patricia (Gerard) Potrzebowski of Batavia, Jody L. Printup of Batavia and Mary B. Printup of Batavia.  A son, John C. Printup Jr. of Batavia.  Four grandchildren, Naomi (Jeff) Hansen, Angus Abrams, Brett Judd and Aaron Printup.  A great grandson, Drew Hansen.   He was the father of the late Laurie Printup Judd and brother of the late, Arlene Logan, Patricia Logan, Gerald "Jim" Printup, Shirley Gaye Pritt, James "Flo" Printup and Neal Printup.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends of the family are cordially invited to share their thoughts, fond memories and condolences with the family on Thursday from 4 - 8 pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA, where services will be Friday at 10am with Rev. Robert Dean officiating.   Interment will be in Grand View Cemetery with full Military Honors.
