Nina M. Ball

Churchville ~ Nina M. Ball, age 88, passed away at home in the loving presence of her family on Saturday evening, April 27, 2013.

     She was born July 5, 1924 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harrison and Jeanette Johnson Hale.

     Mrs. Ball was a charter member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Chili. She initially worked at an Air Force plant during WW II and eventually moved on to a real estate career, becoming a broker and formed her own brokerage business.  She was also the first female real estate broker to be named to the GRAR board.

    She is survived by her sons Donald Ball of LeRoy and Charles (Cindy) Ball of Churchville, a daughter, Carolyn (William) VanHouter of Rochester, a sister, Bessie Grasso of Batavia, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Norman Ball and Daniel DeGeorge and 11 siblings.

     Family and friends may call on the family on Tuesday from 6 ~ 9 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt 19 north) LeRoy, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM.  Interment will follow in Grove Place Cemetery in Chili.
