WILFRED L. MAWER

Age 91, of Depew, died peacefully Wednesday March 6, 2013 at Sisters of Charity/St. Joseph's Campus in Cheektowaga.

Mr. Mawer served with the Royal Corp. of Engineers in WWII and was a member of St. Martha's Parish in Depew. An avid woodworker, he loved the outdoors, especially gardening, plants and bird watching. He and his wife enjoyed their cottage on Lake Simcoe and traveling throughout the US and Europe.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean (Libawski) Mawer of Depew; loving daughters, Peggy (Gordon) Dibble of Corfu, Linda (Ken) Kruger of Rochester & Erica Mawer of NYC; loving son, John (Cathy) Mawer of Lancaster; brother-in-law Leon (Renate) Libawski of Canada; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass 11:00 AM Saturday June 1, 2013 at St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish (Corfu Site) and a luncheon 1:00 PM at the Dibble Family Center 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wilfred's memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
