Joan B. D'Angelo

Joan B. D’Angelo, 78 of Batavia, passed away on Friday September 27, 2013 at the Genesee County Nursing Home Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 6, 1935 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Winfred Beck and the late Jane Klespies. Mrs. D’Angelo worked for many years as a Nurse Aide at St. Jerome Hospital. She loved to knit, she and her friends formed a group called The Happy Hookers knitting lap blankets and baby hats. She knitted well over 1,000 baby hats and chances are if you had a baby in the last ten years the baby hat was knitted by Joan. She volunteered countless hours working the night shift at Crossroads House and knitting of course. Joan won multiple Community Service awards for most volunteer hours in a year. She is preceded in death by her husband Arcadio D’Angelo in 1987.

She is survived by sons Frank (Jane) D’Angelo of Leesburg, FL; Dr. Michael (Heidi) DeAngelo of Batavia; Dino (Jill) D’Angelo of Buffalo; daughter Donna (Jeff) Fauth of Corfu; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no prior calling hours or Funeral Services.
