Christopher P. Wierda

Christopher P. Wierda, 43 of Manchester, NH and formerly of Alabama, NY, died unexpectedly on Saturday (October 19, 2013) at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1970 in Buffalo, NY, a son of James and Susan Schlenker Wierda of Batavia.

Christopher was employed as a computer programmer for Wapac Labs in Manchester, NH.  He was a graduate of Oakfield-Alabama High School, where he excelled and enjoyed participating on the track team.  Christopher was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country during Operation Desert Storm. He enjoyed photography, camping in the Adirondacks and was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature.  He was also very fond of computer technology and artistry.

Surviving besides his parents is a son, Dimitri Wierda. Step-son, Daniil Petlvannay and their mother, Oksana Wierda, all of Williamsville. Brother, Derk Wierda of Batavia. Sisters, Lindsay Wierda and Jessica (Thomas) Lewandowski, all of Batavia.  Maternal grandmother, Alice Schlenker of Tonawanda. Aunt, Mari Schlenker of Tonawanda.  Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather to share memories, condolences and thoughts on Saturday, November 2nd, from 10am-12pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia.  A funeral service with full military honors will commence in the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 529 E. Main St., Batavia, NY 14020.
