Gladys M. Graham

Gladys was born in Perry, New York a daughter of the late Clair and Jessie Lines McBride. She was a register nurse for several years before her marriage to Robert Graham in 1945 then stayed home on the farm to tend to her family. She was a member of the Portageville Baptist Church where she was active in many church activities. A volunteer for the Wyoming County Community Hospital where she worked in their gift shop, for the American Cancer Society and worked on many blood drives for the American Red Cross. She was active in the Memorial Hall in Hunt and helpful in their revitalization project, she was on the board for the former Nunda Community home and the election board for the Town of Portage. She was a former 4-H leader for the “Baking Buttons”. Gladys enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, swimming at the YMCA in Hornell, and spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister Helen McBride and brother Kenneth McBride.

She is survived by her husband whom she married on November 9, 1945 Robert J. Graham Jr., 3 daughters: Pemba (Dwight) Harder of Castile, Kathryn (Stephen) Lewis of Hunt, Christina (David) Vanderbosch of Prattsburgh, 1 son: Rodney (Linda) Graham of Hunt, 1 sister: Cynthia Fischer of Perry, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, good friends and neighbors.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday November 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. Perry, NY 14530. Funeral services will be held on Sunday November 3rd at 1:00pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
