Dr. Anne Marie Guthrie

Dr. Anne Marie Guthrie, 49, passed peacefully in her home on Oct. 29th surrounded by her family and friends after an 8 year struggle with breast cancer. Anne Marie graduated from Perry H.S. in 1982, earned her B.A. and Masters degree at University of Buffalo, delivered two education symposiums overseas while working at Florida International University in Miami and earned her Doctorate of Education from University of Memphis.  Anne Marie was recognized as a founding leader in experiential education, and traveled widely to include China, to establish experiential education as a national model. The past decade Anne Marie served as a Dean at Keuka College. Anne Marie loved to golf, duck hunt and wood work with her dad.

Anne Marie is survived by her parents A. Eugene and Marjorie Guthrie, brother Barry & Lisa Guthrie, husband David Ferry, Hodgins Uncles:  Hugh & Gwen, Clifford & Linda, Kenneth & Barbara, Wesley & MaryJoyce and her aunt Clarita & Irving Wilsey, plus a large family of relatives and friends whom she was devoted to. Anne Marie is also survived by her good friend Cindy Tarala (Dariel Draper) and her "Children" Jennifer Wilson (Bill), Stacey Beagle; Geoff and Jimmy Becker; "grand children" Devon and Tyler Wilson; Ethan and Emma Beagle, along with her great aunt Rose Hodgins.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday November 9, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church 35 Covington Street Perry, NY 14530 where Funeral Services will immediately follow.
