Carole A. Winterhalter

Carole A. Winterhalter, 60 of Akron, passed away on December 6, 2013 at The Center for Hospice &Palliative Care in Cheektowaga. She was born February 7, 1953 in Wellsville to the late Erest (Mildred “Mitzi” Osgood) Winterhalter. Carole was retired from Buffalo General Hospital where she was a carpenter and member of Union #289. She loved gardening, being outdoors, spending time by the pool and baking especially cookies.

Carole is survived by her daughter Ashley (Shawn Hazlett) Koch of Corfu, brothers Richard Winterhalter of Belmont, Michael Winterhalter of Rochester, sisters Judy (James) Bliven of Belmont, Anne Winterhalter of NJ, Patricia Sweeney of West Almond, Lynda Jones of NJ, Teresa Winterhalter of Savannah, GA; along with many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call on Tuesday December 10, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in St. James Episcopal Church, 405 East Main Street, Batavia, NY. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Belmont.
