Shirley M. Foley

Batavia – Shirley M.  Foley, 77, of Batavia, passed away peacefully Friday, (December 20, 2013) at Crossroads House, in Batavia.

Mrs. Foley was born November 6, 1936 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Jack and Evelyn (Limon) Parker.

Shirley was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia.  She was a gifted singer; and enjoyed being a part of the church choir.  She loved to paint; and especially looked forward to family game night.  She will be remembered for her want to help people, having volunteered her time with the Home Visitor Program; and her knack for talking on the phone. 

She is the wife of Nelson Foley, of Batavia.  The couple were married in October of 1972 and spent 41 wonderful years together.

Surviving along with her husband are her children, Karen (Randy) Becker of Indian Falls, and Brian P. (Wendy) Smith of East Bethany; a grandson, Jason Becker of Indian Falls; step-grandchildren, Stacy Malone of Batavia, Sarah Malone of East Bethany, and Samuel Malone of Batavia.  Six step-great-grandchildren also survive.

Shirley is preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Smith.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, Shirley’s Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, (December 23, 2013) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave., Batavia.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O.
