Kathleen M. McGee, 80 of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday February 26, 2014 at the Leo Center for Caring in Rochester. She was born on July 25, 1933 in Batavia, to the late Edmund P. (Ida M. Pfundstein) Marshall. Mrs. McGee worked as an X-Ray Technician at St. Jerome’s Hospital for 30 years and managed the interpreters at the Genesee Country Village & Museum for 20 years. She was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish and St. Joseph’s Sodality. She belonged to the Seven Springs Association, Holland Land Office and enjoyed quilting. She is preceded in death by her husband James N. McGee who passed in 1992; granddaughter Bryn McGee, brother Edmund Marshall, sisters Claire Hermance and Lillian Kimaid.
She is survived by sons John N. (Jane) McGee of SC; Michael E. (Laurie) McGee of NC; daughters Eileen M. McGee of Batavia; Mary Ellen (Jason) Reardon of Batavia; sister Theresa Kelly of Albion; sister-in-law Dorothy Marshall of RI; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Robert, Zachary McGee; Hilary (Galen) Hurl; Cooper Hawley; Brian (Staci Ball) Ellingham; Kathryn (Allen) Greene; James, Thomas, Sean Reardon; 4 great-grandchildren Galen Michael; Elizabeth, Calista & Emma Hurl, along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Friday February 28, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, NY 14020. A 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 1, 2014 at Resurrection Parish 303 E. Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
