Mary L. Bell

Rochester / LeRoy ~ Mary L. Bell, age 74, formerly of LeRoy, passed away Saturday morning (Aug. 2, 2014) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

     Mrs. Bell was born March 18, 1940 in Warsaw, N.Y., a daughter of the late Francis and Marjorie McGee Lakas.

     She was a loving mother and grandmother, who cherished her grandchildren.  She enjoyed

reading, painting, and spending time at the family cottage.   She also loved her cat, "Walter Anne".  Mary will also be remembered as a dedicated "voice" in the LeRoy community, having served over 31 years as a police, fire, ambulance, and highway dispatcher.

     She is survived by her children; Michael (Mia) Bell of Rochester, Susan (Alan) Drumheller of Pittsford and Gregory Bell of Rochester; her beautiful grandchildren, Katarina Bell and Ariana Bell, step-grandchildren, Lisa Drumheller and James Drumheller; a brother, Thomas Lakas of Rochester; sisters-in-law, Monica Lakas of TN, Mary Lakas of Varysburg and Elizabeth Bell of Tupper Lake, along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Bell and brothers, James Lakas and John Lakas.

     Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 ~ 8 at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM.  Interment will follow in Machpelah Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the LeRoy Fire Dept., 3 W. Main St., LeRoy, N.Y. 14482
