AUGUSTINE ROBERT FENELLO

Oakfield - Mr. Augustine Robert Fenello, 76, of Oakfield, a self-employed hairdresser for over 40 years, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the New York State Veteran's Home.

Mr. Fenello was born October 13, 1937 in Batavia, a son of the late Benjamin, Sr. and Florence Picirillo Fenello.

A member of St. Padre Pio Parish - Oakfield worship site, Mr. Fenello was a member of the Buffalo Hairdresser Association and the Oakfield-Alabama American Legion. He served with the United States Navy from 1956-60 where he was an aviation mechanic for Patrol Squadron Eight.

As a jack of all trades, Mr. Fenello spent much of his spare time building, remodeling and fixing whatever was needed by any friends or family. He was a diehard Notre Dame Football and New York Yankees fan. However, his greatest passion was simply spending time with his family and friends.     

Mr. Fenello was the beloved husband of Shirley Rademacker Fenello whom he married June 16, 1962; loving father of Michael (Suzanne) Fenello of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania and Michele (Brian) Telga of Chili; brother of  Nicholas (Sarah) Fenello of Batavia; brother-in-law of Dino Giordano of  Hilton, Gary (Mary Rose) Rademacker of Batavia, Wayne (Leslie) Rademacker of Oakfield, Sylvia Rademacker of Akron and Connie McClure of Batavia; cherished grandfather of Cody, Caitlin and Nicolette Fenello of Cranberry Township, PA and Zachary and Alexis Telga of Chili and  loving uncle of fifteen nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Fenello, Jr.; sister, Ruth Giordano; and brother-in-laws Allan and Dean Rademacker

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Worship Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield.  Burial, with full military honors, will be held at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
