Marcus F. Crandall

Oakfield - Mr. Marcus F. Crandall, age 55, of Oakfield, passed away on September 23, 2014 at his home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice with his loving wife by his side.

Mr. Crandall was born January 12, 1959 in Batavia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Joyce Cortright Crandall.

Mr. Crandall retired in 2011 from Rochester Local 435 where he was a laborer/foreman for 22 years.

A dedicated and faithful member of the Genesee Country Church, Mr. and Mrs. Crandall enjoyed their horses and horseback riding together.  An avid carpenter and woodworker, Mr. Crandall, along with his wife built their home in Oakfield. He enjoyed tinkering around with old Ford cars and most of all cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1977-1981.  Mr. Crandall was stationed in Okinawa, Mt. Fuji, and Korea. Stateside he was stationed in Yuma, Arizona and Sanmataio, California.  Mr. Crandall received ranking of Lance Corporal/ Corporal Meritoriously.   Mr. Crandall was unable to continue his career in the military due to an injury he received while on duty in Sanmataio, California.  

Mr. Crandall is survived by his wife, Barbara Falker-Crandall whom  he married August 23, 2003; his children,  Jacob (KatieLee) Crandall of Amherst,  James (Molly Smith) Crandall of Alexander, Joliene (Chris Pritchard) Crandall of Batavia,  Joshua  (Samantha Anastisia) Crandall of Amherst,  Despina (Mitch) Regan of Oakfield,  Maria (Andrew) Thompson of Oakfield and Lazaros (Brittany Kessler) Solomonidis of Oakfield;  nine grandchildren, Gabriel, Sunset and Aurora Crandall, Gavin and Preslee Crandall, Dakota Palmer, Paige Schultz, Amelya Regan and Emma Thompson;  four sisters, Kathleen (Leonard) Moultrip of Arizona, Darlene Weger of Georgia, Cheryleen (Paul) Morrow of Batavia, Tammileen (Clifford) Heap of Perry, and several nieces and nephews.

He is the brother of the late Michael and Russell Crandall.

Friends may call on Friday September 26, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of The Genesee Country Church, 3268 Drake Street, Oakfield.
