Marianne "Annie" D. Divers

Marianne “Annie” D. Divers, 91 of Rochester passed away on Thursday Sept. 25, 2014 at Cottage Grove.  Annie is predeceased by her husband of 59 years Raymond T. Divers and her beloved sister Margot D. McVoy.

She was a proud WWII veteran having served in the Women’s Army Air Corps at the Rome NY air base during the War and in the Reserves for a number of years afterward. She worked as a research chemist for Alllied Chemical in Solvay NY for nearly 40 years and competed in many bridge leagues in Syracuse until moving to Rochester in 2009. Annie was a Bronze Life Master in the American Bridge League. She was an accomplished chef, seamstress, and artist as well. The Family wishes to thank all of her caregivers at Cottage Grove, especially Cathy Casey and Marva Williams.

She is survived by her daughters Pamela D. Korte and Lorrie D. Divers of both of Rochester, former son in law John M. Korte, Luis Arzu (AFS son), brother and sister in law Kenneth (Dorothy) Divers, several nieces, nephews and grand-dogs Gina and Blush

Friends are invited to call on Monday Sept. 29th from 4- 6 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 W. Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. Funeral Services will follow calling hours at 6PM at the Funeral Home.
