Hugh T. Richmond

Hugh T. Richmond, 70 of Alexander, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (December 2, 2014) at his residence while under the care of his family and hospice.
 
He was born in Dansville, NY on June 16, 1944, a son of the late Eben and Virginia Gould Richmond and the youngest sibling of five brothers and one sister.
 
Mr. Richmond retired as a tool and die maker from Strong Forge & Fabrication in Batavia. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received the rank of Sergeant. To Mr. Richmond, family always came first, and he was a great educator of life to his children.  Hugh was a very loving man who was very involved with Tri-Town Football in Alexander, where he coached for several years. He enjoyed working around his home, fishing, camping and being the “Best Grandpa” to his grandchildren.  He was also a member of Resurrection Parish of Batavia.
 
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Morrill Richmond of Alexander; son, Eric Richmond of Albion; daughters, Ellen (Stanley) Skora of Lockport and Billie (Bradley) Elliott of Nebraska.  Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
 
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, Friday (Dec. 12th), 12:00pm at St. Mary's Church of Resurrection Parish, 18 Ellicott St., Batavia, where full military honors will follow at the conclusion of the Mass.
