Oliver P. Cooper Jr.

LeRoy ~ Oliver P. Cooper Jr., age 91, of Genesee Street, passed away Sunday afternoon (Dec. 28, 2014) at the home of his son, surrounded by his loving family.

     Mr. Cooper was born December 26, 1923 in Henrietta, N.Y., a son of the late Oliver and Alice Burns Cooper Sr.

     He was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, who supported and attended all of his children's and grandchildren's events.  He was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during WW II, earning the good conduct medal and the Bronze Star.  He was a member of the LeRoy American Legion and was an avid golfer.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Grace Ingalls Cooper, a son, Ricky (Laurie) Cooper of Stafford; grandchildren, Denny (Shannon) Yauchzee, Ricky (Kelly) Cooper, Amy Cooper, Abbey (Dave) Cooper Wilson, Katie (Bill) Bogan, Larry (Sarah) Mclaughlin, Luke Yauchzee and Gavin Yauchzee; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Tommy and Scott Cooper, Hanna and Brooklyn Wilson, Taylor and Cole Yauchzee, Will and John Bogan; great-great-grandchild, Chloe Parker; sister, Betty (Connie) Snyder of LeRoy, sister-in-law, Janice Cooper of LeRoy, along with several nieces and nephews.

     Mr. Cooper was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Yauchzee; his brothers, Franklin Cooper, John, Walter "Bea" and Stanley Unamen and his sisters, Harriett Huntley and Arleen Ingalls.

     Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 1:00 P.M. at the LeRoy United Methodist Church, 10 Trigon Pk.  Interment in Machpelah Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Veterans Outreach Center Inc., 459 South Ave., Rochester, N.Y. 14620
