
James and his two brothers came to Batavia to work at the US Gypsum in Oakfield. He settled in Batavia where he raised his family. James was professional truck driver for 33 years, retiring from Emerson Express in 1997. James was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
James is survived by his loving wife Onie Ruth Soggs; sons David (Ellie) Soggs of Buffalo, James E. Soggs Jr. of Batavia; two step sons Robert Burney of TX, Tom (Jackie) Burney of FL; daughters Lisa Soggs of Buffalo, Cynthia (Robert) Thurston of Batavia; step daughter Cassandra Burney of GA; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no prior calling hours. A 1:00 PM Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 3, 2015 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020.
