Jim had a passion for cars, racing and music. He spent many years as a car detailer in the Genesee County area and once had a shop in Clarence. In recent years as his health was failing he held small garage sales and enjoyed helping others in any way he could.
Surviving is his mother Mary (Bob) Newland of Batavia; father, James F. (Mickey) Hemmer of CA; children, Alesha & Justin of Rochester and Cory of Elba; sisters, Christine Hemmer of Batavia and Laurie (Gary) Cohen of CA; 4 grandchildren along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be present from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday January 13, 2015 at the Calvary Baptist Church 3515 Galloway Road Batavia, New York 14020 where funeral services will immediately follow. Memorials in Jim's memory can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
