Dr. Herman J. Ianni

Dr. Herman J. Ianni, 93, of Batavia, passed away Thursday January 8th, 2015 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Dr. Ianni was born December 17, 1921 in Oakfield, NY to Giovanni and Elizabeth Ianni.

He graduated from the University of Buffalo Dental School in 1945 with honors and was a well-respected dentist in Batavia for 43 years before retiring in 1988. He served as a Captain in the Army prior to opening his practice. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Josephine Cosmano Ianni.

Dr. Ianni is survived by his brother, Angelo (Wilma) Ianni of Akron, sisters, Rose (Alfred) DeAngeli of Naples, FL, and Helen (Ralph) Santilli of Rochester; his children, John (Kerry) Ianni, Lynn (Andrew) Ianni Bagnall; and his grandchildren, John Anthony, Joseph, James, Brooke and Courtney.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3 – 5pm or 7 – 9 pm Monday, January 12th at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 333 West Main Street, Batavia, NY. Services will be held at 9:30 on Tuesday January 13th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 18 Ellicott Street, Batavia.
