Bernard S. George

Bernard S. George, 86, of Batavia passed away Thursday January 8, 2015 at Batavia Health Care Center. He was born on November 17, 1928 in Batavia to the late Sylvester (Mary Petz) George. Bernard is preceded in death by brothers Paul, Lawrence, Harold and Francis George; sisters Florence Reisdorf, Mary George and Teresa Squires.

Bernard owned and operated George’s Dairy Farm prior to retirement. He was a private pilot who loved aviation. He enjoyed working on cars and traveling. Bernard was an avid gardener and also a lover of ice cream

Bernard is survived by his loving wife Mary (Zielinski) George of Batavia; children Douglas (Janet) George of Atlanta, GA., Daniel George of Stafford, Patricia (Mark) Grabosky of Fairport, Christina (Steven) Brown of Webster; sister Shirley (Thomas) Edbauer of North Tonawanda; 4 grandchildren Sidney, Eric, Tabitha and Ross along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 12, 2015 at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s Church) 18 Ellicott Street Batavia, New York 14020.  He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
