She was born in Buffalo, NY on February 16, 1943, daughter of the late Frank and Florence Plewniak Bakos.
Bernadine was a former executive director for the Red Cross of Orleans County and office clerk for Dr. Ecker Dentistry in Batavia prior to her retirement. She was a member of Ascension Parish where she volunteered at the church bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially around the holidays where she was able to show off her great cooking skills.
She was the wife of the late Arnold Foote who passed away in 1999.
Survivors include her daughter, Stacy (Jerome) Scharlau of Alexander. Son, Jason (Brooke) Foote of Elba. Grandchildren, Marissa and Jessica Scharlau , Jacob, Emma and Garrison Foote. Brothers, Thomas (Eleanor) Bakos of Batavia, Paul (Barbara) Bakos of Maryland, Frank (Darlene) Bakos of Tennessee, Stephen Bakos of Batavia and Bernard (Mary) Bakos of Batavia. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Friday from 4-8pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 BOGUE AVE., BATAVIA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 12 noon at Ascension Parish (corner of Swan and Sumner Sts.). Interment will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
