Suzanne H. Dorman

Batavia - Suzanne H. Dorman, 89, of Batavia, switchboard operator at the former St. Jerome Hospital in Batavia for over 30 years, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.

Mrs. Dorman was born February 24, 1926 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruby Beckwith Hopp.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church since April 12, 1936, she was the second oldest living member of the congregation. She was active in the home bureau and served as a cub scout leader when her children were growing up. Mrs. Dorman enjoyed gardening, baking, garage sales and going to book reviews at the Seymour Library in Brockport.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Earl Dorman; her children, Judy (late David) Whitney of Avon, Karen (Ray) Gabriel of Brockport, Craig (Beverly) Dorman and David (Mary Ann) Dorman, both of Batavia; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Barone.

There are no prior visiting hours. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia.  Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
