Marie A. Cima

Marie A. Cima, 87 of Corfu, passed away peacefully on Monday April 13, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born January 19, 1928 in Penn, Pennsylvania to the late Anthony (Stella Kazariewieczz) Norkin. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Samuel Cima.  

She was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish. Mrs. Cima worked her whole life in the restaurant business, owning some with her husband. She and Sam enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida.  Marie was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and it was common to hear cheering for them on any given Sunday.  She truly loved her family and her face would light up whenever she talked about her granddaughters with whom she shared a very special bond.

She is survived by her son John (Karen) Cima of Corfu; daughters Patricia (Ward) Karns of Fremont, CA; JoAnne (Robert) Osburn of Kirkwood, MO; three granddaughters Caitlin, Allison Cima; Maggie (Mitchell Barklage) Osburn along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday April 18, 2015 in St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish (Holy Name of Mary) 8656 Church St. East Pembroke, NY 14056. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery, E. Pembroke.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Program at Strong Memorial Hospital 601 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, NY 14642 or to St. Maximilian Kolbe 18 West Main Street Corfu, NY 14036 and The Senior Center at the Genesee County Office for The Aging 2 Bank ST.
