Julia M. Brzezniak,100, of Batavia passed away peacefully on Sunday April 26, 2015 at Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 9, 1915 in Buffalo, New York  to the late John (Sarah) Rzepka. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter Bzezniak; son Ronald Brzezniak; brother Jack Rzepka and sisters Helen Eckhart, Florence Sherwood, and Leona Woods. 

Mrs. Brzezniak was an active member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish and the American Rose Society. She was involved with various charities and was known for her giving nature. You could often find her gardening as that was something she was truly passionate about.

She is survived by her son John (Ann) Brzezniak of Batavia; daughter Janet Brzezniak of Batavia; grandchildren Jennifer Ruhlman; Michael (Christina), Jonathyn, and Jaret (Michelle) Brzezniak; great-grandchildren Michael Ruhlman; Evelyn, Emily, Amelia, Elandria and Emmyt Brzezniak along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday May 1, 2015 from 10 AM- 11:15AM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 1, 2015 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish (Holy Name of Mary) 8656 Church St. East Pembroke, NY 14056. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
