WILLIAM P. WALKER, JR.

William P. Walker, Jr., of Batavia, age 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 10, 2017. His Mother, Betty Walker, and his companion, Don Jones, predeceased him. In addition, throughout his lifetime, Bill lovingly nurtured numerous cats that he considered to be his family.

Bill worked for 35 years in the Food Services Department at United Memorial Medical Center. Even if you did not know him by name, you may have seen him over the years, identified by his clean shaven head, while he either rode his bicycle or walked everywhere in Batavia.

Bill was one of the greatest all time fans of athletics at his Alma mater, Batavia High School. He had the amazing ability to rattle off absolutely any score that you asked him about either BHS football or basketball, dating back over 45 years; along with thousands of other sports facts and trivia ranging from the names of all the High School nicknames in Section V, to the construction cost and seating capacity of the newest multi-million dollar High School football stadium in Texas.

Although there were many others who helped Bill along his way, a special thanks and acknowledgement goes out to his cousin, Wally Anderson, from Honeoye Falls, NY, and his best friend, Kevin Earl, a local attorney.

He had a kind soul and will be missed. His family will lay him to rest privately, without calling hours. However, his friends and his BHS Class of 1972 intend to organize an informal remembrance gathering at a date, time and place to be announced in the future in print and on Facebook. He will be laid to rest alongside his mother in Elmwood Cemetery and memorials in his memory can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

THE WALKER FAMILY IS BEING CARED FOR BY THE MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4210 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020
