She was born February 11, 1930 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary DeFino Recchio
Josephine was a lifelong resident of Batavia. She was employed by the Batavia Downs Race Track for 32 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed Cruises and casinos, but most of all she enjoyed her family and the gatherings they shared through the years.
She was the wife of the late Mario Fragnito. Mother of the late Joseph Fragnito and Marie Fragnito. Grandmother of the late Richard Funke and sister of the late Frank Recchio, Mike Recchio, Mary Schiavone and Margaret Schlossel.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia (Richard) Funke of Rochester. Daughter in-law, Patricia Fragnito. Grandchildren, Melissa (Dan) Mahar, Jamie (Eric) Peskor and Vanessa Aquino. Great-grandchildren, Jack, Tate and Finn Mahar, Leah, Ryan and Kyle Funke, Makennah, Kylie, Mela and Jathan Aquino and Luke Peskor. Sister, Jennie Trigilio and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Monday (May 14th) from 10:00am -11:00am at Ascension Parish (So. Swan Street), where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am.
