EVEREL H. MASTIN 1944-2018

Everel Herbert Mastin, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 while recovering from heart surgery. Everel was born in Binghamton, NY on January 4, 1944 as the fourth of five children. Everel presently lived in Dillsburg, PA and previously resided in San Antonio, TX; Rutherford, NJ; Browns Mills, NJ; Westleton, England; Batavia, NY; and Binghamton, NY. Everel spent his young years in Binghamton. At 14, he moved to the dairy farm of his cousin, Ray Miller, in Batavia, NY and became a member of their family, gaining two more sisters and three more brothers. Everel attended Corfu High School until 1962 where he was an FFA member. He attended the William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute from 1962-1963 in Chazy, NY. He attended SUNY Canton in Canton, NY from 1963-1965 and was a member of Zeta Alpha Phi, graduating with a degree in agriculture and then furthered his education by studying aeronautical engineering at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX from 1965-1967. Following college, Everel entered the Air Force and was stationed at Bentwaters Royal Air Force Base in England, serving as a mechanic on the F4 aircraft.
 
Everel is survived by his wife, Deborah Bringhurst Mastin; former spouse Brenda Mastin and their three children: Lawrence (Cari) Mastin of San Antonio, TX, Tanya (Mark) Crosbie of Dublin, Ireland and Daniel (Laura) Mastin of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by his three siblings: Chalmer (Alice) Mastin of Kalamazoo, MI; Marold (Curtis) Murray of Binghamton, NY and Ray (Penny) Mastin of Binghamton, NY; his cousins: David (Anne) Miller, Dorothy Acomb, Lucille (Dave) MacKenzie, Charles (Laurie) Miller, and James (Elisabeth) Miller; his numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Everel is pre-deceased by his brother Richard E. Mastin and his parents Harold and Mabel Mastin and his second parents: Ray and Harriet Miller. Everel will be remembered for his acceptance of and willingness to help others and his love of travel. Prior to his recent heart surgery, many members of Everel’s family gathered at his home to celebrate his life and share their love with him. 
 
Funeral services are provided by C.B. Beach & Son Mortuary Inc. 4 East Main Street, Corfu, NY. The viewing will be held on Friday, May 25 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the North Darien Bible Church, 9762 Simonds Road, Corfu, NY. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 11:00 am at the North Darien Bible Church and will be followed by burial at Maple Hill Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the North Darien Bible Church.
