Kathryn (Nita) Fisher

Kathryn (Nita) Fisher was called home to be with her Lord and Savior suddenly on Sunday, January 6, 2019.  Nita was born Kathryn Waneta Kress in July 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa.  She became a registered nurse after high school and practiced her profession both full and part-time for a number of years.  She was wedded to her dear husband, Floyd for sixty-two years before his death in 2013.  Her eldest daughter, Marcia Pennell predeceased her in 2018 but she is survived by her two sons, Michael (Beth) and James (Connie), and her daughter Kathryn (Paul) Meloon.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.   Nita was a long-time member of West Somerset Baptist Church and enjoyed attending weekly right up until the time of her death.  She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching her birds, having tea and eating out with her friends, and spending time with all of her family.  Calling hours will be on Thursday (January 10) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the West Somerset Baptist Church, 1876 Hosmer Road, Appleton, where services will be held on Friday (January 11) at 11:00 a.m.  Kathryn will be laid to rest in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport.  Memorials may be made to the West Somerset Baptist Church, 1876 Hosmer Road, Appleton, NY 14008.  Please leave a condolence, share a story or light a candle at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com.   Arrangements for Kathryn were completed by the H.E.
