Mary Jean Feeney

  Mary Jean Feeney, 88, formerly of Attica, NY, passed away on March 16, 2019 in Cumming, GA..  She was born on June 26, 1930 in Warsaw, NY to the late Eugene and the late Margaret (Regan) Holahan. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Canale and Sheila Garry.

Mary Jean graduated from Warsaw High School in 1948 and continued her education at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA.  Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude, she embarked upon a teaching career. In 1953, Mary Jean married Alfred Feeney, and spent the next few years at various Air Force duty assignments, including 2 years in Japan.  After returning to Warsaw in 1961, Mary Jean surrendered her teaching career to focus on family, eventually raising five children to whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally.  Mary Jean and her family moved to Attica, NY in 1964 where she was an avid golfer, attended every school and sporting event of her children, enjoyed game shows, traveling to the beach, and Big East basketball. 

Mary Jean is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Alfred Feeney; her five children, Sean (Kate), Margaret, Elizabeth (Phyllis), Kevin (Dana) and Timothy (Karyn); her sister, Maureen Hayes and eight grandchildren, Claire, Allison (Brian), Tyler, Ben, Kaden, Kole, Trey and Maggie.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 4-6 P.M. at the Marley Funeral Home, LLC, 135 Main St., Attica, NY 14011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 A.M.at Ss Joachim & Anne RC Church, 50 East Ave, Attica, NY 14011.  Burial for the family will follow at St Michaels Cemetery, Warsaw, NY.
