Loretta Scinta Boylan

Loretta Scinta Boylan, 79, of Le Roy, NY and Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019. She had been a seasonal resident of Bonita Springs for the last 30 years.
She was born December 29, 1939 in Batavia, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Julia (née Hale) Scinta.

She was a graduate of Le Roy High School and Nazareth College in Pittsford, NY, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education.

Loretta’s career was multi-faceted. She taught art and spelling in the Elementary and Middle schools of Albany, NY. She was a partner in Classic Interiors, an residential and commercial design firm. She was also the Executive Director of United Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Inc. of Batavia, NY.

She was one of the Founders of both the Parents and Teachers Service Organization at LeRoy Central Schools and the annual Oatka Festival in LeRoy. She also served two terms as President of the History of Art Club in LeRoy, and was a member of the Conversation Class in Batavia. She was a member of the of the LeRoy Historical Society Board of Directors.. She served as Co-Chairperson of the University of Rochester Parents Council. She became Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the United Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Inc. and then became its Chairwoman Emeritus. She also was selected to serve on the Bonita Bay Community Association Design Review Committee.

She was a passionate gourmet cook, a voracious reader, and enjoyed watercolor painting watercolors.
Mrs. Boylan is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Paul S. Boylan; her beloved sons: Mark S. (Rebecca) Boylan of LeRoy, NY, Laurence C. Boylan II of Baltimore, MD, and Peter H. (Jeanine) Boylan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three cherished grandsons: Theodore P., Boylan of Boston, MA, Peter P. Boylan of Groveland, CA; Atticus L. Boylan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and three dear step-granddaughters Montana, Olivia and Ava Vescovi, all of LeRoy, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Julia, and a brother, Charles Scinta. Services will be held in LeRoy in May 18th, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to: Friends of Machpelah, Inc., P.O. Box 33, LeRoy, NY 14482

Arrangements are being made in Florida by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, and in New York by Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the morning of May 18th , 2019, time to be determined, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in LeRoy.
