She was born June 24, 1928, the daughter of the late Steven Twardowski and Frances (Sass) Twardowski.
A life-long Batavian, Betty was a 1945 graduate from Batavia High School, and a 1949 graduate of St. Jerome School of Nursing. She worked briefly at the Batavia Veterans Administration Hospital, and the majority of her nursing career was dedicated to the former Genesee Memorial Hospital.
Betty was a member of many organizations, including the American Legion and St. Joseph’s Sodality.
Betty enjoyed volunteering. She is a past president of the IARP and long-time secretary for the Polish Falconettes, and most recently volunteered at the New York State Veterans Home. She spent a lifetime participating in fundraising events for St. Joseph’s Church and the Polish Falcons, but nothing gave Betty more joy than spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed.
She leaves behind her daughters, Debra of Batavia and Vicky of Columbus, Ohio; son Richard (Wendy DeFazio) of Chesapeake, VA; two grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Osborn; sister and best friend, Alice Lucore of Lockport.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest “Lefty” Osborn; son, Robert; siblings Florence Kujawski, Benny, Eddie, Ted, and Art Twardowski; and Ruth Smolen.
