Mrs. Joyce M. Kuehl

Batavia - Joyce M. Kuehl, age 91, of Batavia, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019, at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.

She was born July 9, 1927, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Fred L. Hyde, Sr. and Mildred Chandler Hyde.

A 72-year member of the First United Methodist Church of Batavia, she volunteered countless hours at church throughout the years. An avid reader, she enjoyed crocheting and traveling with her late husband, Charles.

Her husband, Charles J. Kuehl, Sr, passed away on December 5, 2002.

She is survived by her children; Charles J. (Christine) Kuehl, Jr. of East Bethany, Dennis (Yvonne) Kuehl of Spring, Texas, Lorene (Randy) Wilford of Byron, Cynthia Novak and David Kuehl of Batavia; nine grandchildren; Jennifer, Stacey, Melissa, Stephanie, Adam, Cody, Matthew, Nathan and Shane; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers; Fred (Sedra) Hyde, Jr. and Ralph (late Juanita) Hyde, both of Batavia; her sister; Marjorie (late Bill) Reiss of Alexander; her sister-in-law, Joanne Hyde of Florida and several nieces and nephews.   

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Hyde.

Joyce's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility for the compassionate care they offered to her.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Batavia, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia where services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in West Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to First United Methodist Church of Batavia, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia, New York 14020.
