JAMES F. MARCINIAK – Of Corfu, Age 72, died unexpectedly Monday September 30, 2019 at his home. He was born December 14, 1946 in Batavia, NY to the late Ignatius and Eleanor (Szczepanski) Marciniak.

Mr. Marciniak served his country honorably during the Vietnam War with the US Marines, he was an aviation mechanic, sharpshooter and a member of the Veness-Strollo Post #1602 of the VFW, Harder-O’donnell American Legion Post #0734 in Attica. He was employed at the former Buffalo China and Tonawanda Coke prior to retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid bowler rolling numerous 300 games. He was a Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan along with the former Brooklyn Dodgers. Jim enjoyed gardening, shopping but most of all his time spent with his “little sweetheart,” Juliana.

He is survived by his sons Jamie Marciniak of Batavia and Jonathan (Kimberlee) Marciniak of Attica; cherished granddaughter, Juliana Marciniak; former wife, Mary Grace “Mitzi” Marciniak of Batavia; brother, David (Anita) Marciniak of SC along with several cousins.

The family will be present from 4-6p.m. on Sunday October 6, 2019 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020, please join the family to celebrate Jim’s Mass of Christian Burial 10a.m. Monday October 7 at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart), he will be laid to rest with his parents in St. Joseph’s Cemetery and memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army 529 East Main Street Batavia, New York 14020 or Volunteers for Animals 3841 West Main Street Road Batavia.
