GARY P. “DOC” RIDLEY ~ of Batavia, age 83, died peacefully Tuesday evening October 1, 2019 at the Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing @ Batavia. He was born in Batavia, NY on April 2, 1936, to the late John W. and Lois J. (Haynes) Ridley also preceded in death by sons-in-law, Barry McKeown and Brian McDonald; grandson, Cale McKeown and siblings, David J. and Linda Ridley.

Mr. Ridley worked for over 40 years at Lapp Insulator in LeRoy, he was a member of the Pavilion Volunteer Fire Department, Life member of the NRA and an avid Buffalo Sabres and New York Yankees fan

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty (Coniber) Ridley of Batavia; son, Gary (Patty) Ridley of OH; daughters, Wendy (Richard Sprague) Ridley-McDonald and Roberta McKeown both of Pavilion; 8 grandchildren, Gary P. Ridley III, Bobby G. Ridley, Marcy (Ryan) Morgan, Christine McDonald, Megan McDonald, Clay (Amy) McKeown, Kyle (Ashley Waite) McKeown, Karisa McKeown; great-grandchildren, Hope, Brock, Lennox & Patrick; special niece, Barbara Kostecke-Horton.

Gary’s family will be present from 2 – 5p.m. on Monday October 7, 2019 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where a Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 5p.m. He will be laid to rest in East Bethany Rural Cemetery and memorials in his memory can be made to Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc. 127 N. Street Batavia, NY or Volunteers for Animals 3841 W. main St. Road Batavia, NY.
