Mary Jane Strzelecki, 88 of Batavia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday (October 4, 2019) at Crossroads House.

She was born May 21, 1931, in Rochester, NY, a daughter of the late John and Helen Reid O’Brien.

Mary Jane was formerly employed by Lane Drugs in Batavia prior to her retirement. She had a huge heart which she gave to her community, especially volunteering at Crossroads House, the Batavia Visitors Booth, Red Cross and a 1st grade class at Oakfield Alabama School. She enjoyed traveling with her husband over the years, a total of 13 cruises to mention a few. Most of all she loved her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Richard V. Strzelecki of Batavia. Daughter, Lisa (Bob) Cudney of Byron, Granddaughters, Lindsay Cudney of Stafford and Jamie Cudney of Greece. Great-granddaughter, Hadley Doyle. Brother, Pat (Norma) O’Brien of Syracuse and sister in-law, Shirl O’Brien of Rochester. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Karen Strzelecki and sister of the late Jeremiah, Jack and Barry O’Brien.

Family and friends are invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Wednesday (October 9th) from 1-3pm at Resurrection Parish, 303, East Main Street, Batavia, where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3pm. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
