Rita A. Streeter

Rita A. Streeter, age 92, formerly of Bergen and Greene NY passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Morris where she had been residing. She was born in Batavia, NY on Dec. 6, 1926, a daughter to the late Lafayette and Theresa (Horsch) Wilder.

Rita was a graduate of Oakfield High School and received she Bachelor’s degree at Brockport College. She was a social worker for Genesee Valley Nursing Home and a substitute teacher for Byron-Bergen Central School district. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Greene, NY. She was a talented watercolor and oil painter, she had a great love for animals, and enjoyed reading and going on walks.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Susan (Daniel) Ragle of Blairsville, GA., Beth Paquin of LeLand, NC, 3 sons: James Douglas (Mary Lou) Streeter of Queenscreek, AZ., Daniel (Susan Swanson) Streeter of Perry, Timothy (Karin) Streeter of Tempe, Az, 11 grandchildren, along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: James F. Streeter who passed away in 2016, son: Duane Streeter who passed in 1976, son-in-law: Andrew Paquin, siblings: Layfayette, William and Wayman Wilder and Phyllis Debbage.

There will be no prior calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
