Steele Caleb Truax

Bergen- Steele Caleb Truax, age 23, of Bergen, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 at home.

He was born August 22, 1996, in Rochester, son of Stanley and Vicky Beedham Truax of Bergen.

A 2015 graduate of Byron-Bergen High School, he was a star athlete while in school excelling at football, baseball and basketball. He played football for Elba/Byron-Bergen and during his senior year, he was named Section V Class C defensive player of the year and was honored by the New York Sportswriters Association All-State Award as Second Team, Class C linebacker. He was the starting shortstop on the Byron-Bergen Varsity baseball team since 8th grade. He dearly loved his brothers and sisters.

Surviving along with his parents are his siblings; Aimee (Jeff) Rose of Geneseo, Kenleigh (Fiance Dave Garnish) Stefaniak of Bergen, Joelle Truax of Rochester, Taylor (Shavaughn) Stefaniak of Bergen, Connor Stefaniak of Bergen and Whitley Stefaniak of Buffalo; his nephew; Noah Rose; his niece, Celia Rose; his grandparents; Milford (Pam) Truax of Byron and Nancy (late Doc) Beedham of Bergen and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

His brother, Luke Truax, passed away in 2007.

There will be no visitation.  His celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 1st at 4 p.m. at the Byron Fire Hall, 6375 Townline Road, Byron. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Steele's memory may be made to the family to distribute to various charities.
