Leonardo Maniaci, 80 of Batavia passed away on Saturday November 2, 2019 at Unity Hospital in Rochester. He was born on Januuary 11, 1939 in San Giuseppe Jato, Sicily to the late Francesco (Angela LoForte) Maniaci. He is preceded in death by his wife; Shirley (DiPiazza) Maniaci; a son Mark Anthony Maniaci; siblings Francesco, Giuseppe, Vito, Marcoantonio, Salvatore, Anna, Eleonora.

Mr. Maniace was in the Italian Military and he worked on Ferrouve Dello Stato Italione Railroads before coming to America in 1971. He retired from Lapp Insulator, LeRoy, NY in 2007 after 33 years. Mr. Maniaci enjoyed watching wrestling, the Buffalo Bills, along with walks to Centennial Park and Vandetta Stadium. 

He is survived by his sons Frank (Michele) Maniaci of Batavia; Joseph (Kelly) Maniaci of Buffalo; daughter Angie Maniaci of Batavia; 5 grandchildren Nicolette Maniaci of Australia; Frank Maniaci, Amanda and Alexis Balduf all of Batavia; Juliet Maniace of Buffalo; along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday November 5, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. Prayers will be recited 9:00 AM on Wednesday November 6th at the Funeral Home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish 18 Ellicott St. Batavia, NY 14020. Leonardo will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
