D. John "Jack" Grayson

D. John “Jack” Grayson, 93, of Le Roy, passed away at Highland Hospital in Rochester on November 4, 2019.

     He was born in Le Roy on November 28, 1925 to the Late Margaret (Dray) and Arthur F. Grayson.

     He is preceded in death by his wife Marguerite (Kagi) Grayson and his brother Arthur W. Grayson.

     Jack was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army Air Corps as a B-24 gunner with the 307th Bomb Group in the Pacific Theatre.  He held a degree in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology.  He was a past president of both Le Roy Machine Company and Dray Enterprises, Inc. in Le Roy.  He was a proud member of the New York State Parks Commission.  He was an amateur radio operator (KC2RZ), enjoyed motorsports and the Buffalo Bills.

     He will be missed by eight daughters and two sons; David (Danette) Grayson of Stafford, Anne (Thomas) Frew of Le Roy, Amy (Scott) Pesesky of Norfolk, VA, Peggy Grayson of Stafford, Lisa (Mark) Soderberg of Conifer, CO, Katherine Hare of Virginia Beach, VA, Barbara Ryan of Newport News, VA, William (Kathy) Grayson of Le Roy, Susan (Thomas) Goodno of Chili, NY, Bridget Grayson of Le Roy.  He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.
