ALLEN L. HAGEN

ALLEN L. HAGEN ~ Age 91, of Oakfield, died Thursday November 14, 2019 at Rochester General Hospital following a brief 3-day illness. He was born in Batavia, NY on October 7, 1928, a son of the late Lester and Hazel (Tooley) Hagen also preceded in death by a brother, William Hagen, nephew, James Hagen and brother-in-law, Carl Harrington.

Mr. Hagen served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Oakfield United Methodist Church since 1961 and was an over 30-year employee of the New York State Thruway Authority. He enjoyed square dancing, farming and tractors and was a member of the Empire State Oliver Collectors Club. His life was devoted to hard work, family and the love of his life, Leota, whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage with on July 23, 2017, renewing their vows in church and a family reception at LeRoy Country Club

Survived is his beloved wife of 72 years, Leota (Bluman) Hagen of Oakfield; loving daughters, Laurel (Hon. Eric) Adams of Oakfield and their children, Sean Adams of Oakfield, Leif (Andrea) Adams of Oakfield and Kari (Victor) Luis of Norwalk, CT; Cheryl (Stephen) Nichols of Pavilion and their children, Michelle (Adam) Martocello of Rochester, Mark Nichols of Batavia, James (Melanie) Nichols of Columbia, SC; Crystal (Dr. Frank Pignatelli) Hagen of Rochester and their children, Matthew (Brynn) Mayback of Seattle, WA, Jonathan (Mandy) Mayback of Rochester, NY, Nathan (Maureen) Maycheco of Aurora, CO and Janelle (Paul) Burk of Corinth, MS; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Robbins of Fairport; sister-in-law, Laura Hagen of Stafford; several nieces, nephews and four legged companions, Honey Bear & Mr. Kitty. 

The Hagen family will be present from 6-8p.m. on Monday November 18 and 11-1p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 19, 2019 at the Oakfield United Methodist Church 2 South Main Street Oakfield, NY 14125 where funeral services will commence at 1p.m. Mr. Hagen will be laid to rest in Cary Cemetery and in lieu of flowers memorials in his memory are suggested to the church or the Oakfield Volunteer Fire Department.
