Warner E. Hopkins

  Warner E. Hopkins, 92, of Bennington, passed away surrounded by his family on November 19, 2019. He was born on January 5, 1927 in Perry, NY to the late Charles and the late Ruth (Kessler) Hopkins. Warner was preceded in death by his siblings, Glenn Hopkins, Earl Hopkins, Pearl Griffith, and Eileen Kosikowski; his son-in-law, John Warner and his son-in-law, Paul Hendel.

Warner was a Dairy Farmer for over 50 years and, with his wife, founded For-Hope Dairy Farm. He was a volunteer Fireman for the Town of Bennington Fire Department. Warner served in the United States Navy during WWII followed by work at Westinghouse for over 20 years. He was a member of the Wyoming County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and he was Wyoming County Conservation Farmer of the Year. Warner was an avid bowler and he was very proud that he lived at the highest spot in Wyoming County.

Warner is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruth (Forkl); his children, Judi (Don) Best, Doris Warner, Gary (Lynne) Hopkins, Donna (Jim) Zevola, Diane Hendel, and Joan (Paul) Kulczyk; sister-in-law, Helen Hopkins and brother-in-law, Rob Roy Griffith; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 11 am – 12 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Marley Funeral Home, LLC, 135 Main St., Attica, NY 14011. A Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica.
