Daniel J. Alexander

BERGEN - Daniel J. Alexander, 68, of Bergen, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, (November 20, 2019), at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Mr. Alexander was born April 1, 1951, in Rochester, a son of the late Robert and Eloise (Blatchford) Alexander.

Dan was a bus driver with Churchville-Chili Central School for over 30 years, and was the owner of Alexander's IGA in N. Chili.  He was a butcher his entire life and a pro golfer at Batavia Country Club.  Mr. Alexander was a past member of both the Bergen and Churchville Volunteer Fire Departments, was an avid bowler and in his younger years, he raced motocross on flat tracks.

He is the husband of the late Lorraine (Trimble) Alexander who passed away on August 15, 2017; father of the late Daniel M. Alexander who passed away on May 10, 2017; and brother of the late Jay Alexander.

Surviving are his daughter, Kathryn (Greg) Swain of Caledonia; grandchildren, Braelyn and Brielle Swain; brothers, Bill (Rachel) Alexander and Larry (Jean) Alexander both of N. Chili, John (Peg) Alexander of Churchville, Steve (Michelle) Alexander of Alabama; a sister-in-law, Dot Alexander of Chili; his best buddy, Richard Werth of N. Chili.  Several nieces and nephews along with the entire Friday Night Golf Gang also survive.

Friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Tuesday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake Street in Bergen, where Dan's Memorial Service will immediately follow.
