Velma Hickok, 88, of Le Roy, formerly of Pavilion, passed away on Monday November 25, 2019 at the Le Roy Village Green. She was born on September 28, 1931 in Perry to the late Kenneth and Mabel (Petri) McVay. In addition to her parents, Velma is predeceased by her husband; Charles F. Hickok Jr. and son; Brian Hickok.

Velma was a retired Home Health Care Aid. She loved knitting, crocheting, and gardening. Velma was a member of Roanoke Community Church and was treasurer there for many years.

She is survived by her children; Alan Hickok of PA., Gary (Karen) Hickok of TN., Scott (Paula) Hickok of NC., Cathy Jordan of OR., Julia (Joseph) Matusak of Le Roy; brother Kenneth (Dorothy) McVay Jr. of NC; Elsie (Frederick) Taggart of Batavia; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. Velma will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in Ashley Cemetery, Springwater, NY.
