DOUGLAS A. BAUER

DOUGLAS A. BAUER  ~ Age 63, of Batavia, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2019 at  United Memorial Medical Center after a four-year courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Douglas was born in Batavia January 9, 1956 to the late Warren Bauer and Esther (Goodie) Carmel of East Bethany and a brother, Paul Bauer.

Douglas worked at Boyles International for over 30 years in the parts department as a salesman and excelled as a front counter customer services representative for the company. He was a caring and loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed word searches and crossword puzzles as well as watching NASCAR, classic TV shows, and westerns. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, as well as a regular on bowling leagues where his best accomplishment was successfully hitting two 7-10 splits in a single game. He had a love for the holidays, especially Christmas, where his fun-loving, and joyous personality showed through. Douglas was an American history buff with the ability to educate anyone on dates and information especially when related to the presidents and any significant historical event.

Along with his mother he is survived by his children, Crystal (Russell) Joy of Batavia, Antoinette (Michael) Wood of Batavia and Michael (Paulina) Bauer of Pensacola, Florida; two grandchildren, Andrew and Skylar Wood; siblings, Carol Robinson of Batavia, Laura Cunningham of Attica and Jeff (Kim) Bauer of Batavia. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Armbrewster and her children, Tiffany  (Johnny) Anthony of NC and Joseph Colon of Alden; Lisa’s grandchildren, Alice, Destin, Maylee along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Doug’s Life Monday December 2 from 5:30 – 8p.m. at the Alexander United Methodist Church 10540 Main Street Alexander, New York 14005. Doug will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica and memorials in his memory can be made to his children to be disbursed to his favorite charities.
