William L. Mosman

  William L. Mosman, 94, of Batavia passed away peacefully on December 16, 2019, his 94th birthday, under the care of Niagara Hospice in Lockport. He was born on December 16, 1925 in Olean to the late Lynford and Hariet (Feister) Mosman. In addition to his parents, William is predeceased by his loving wife; Mary Ellen (Wilson) Mosman; a son Timothy Mosman, daughter Judith E. Peterson.

Mr. Mosman was a proud United States Navy veteran. He owned and operated LC Mosman Co. Inc. in Batavia for 65 years. He was an avid golfer who had 3 holes in one, two of them in the same month. William belonged to many local clubs and organizations including The Elks Club, The Moose Club, The American Legion and VFW in Batavia and was an honorary lifetime member of the Lions Club.

He is survived by his daughters Patricia (Donald) Smith of Wilson; Mary (Wayne) Keifman of Grand Island; Ellen (Joaquin) Aymerich of Naples; Nancy (John Corey) Mosman of Williamsville; sons William (Paula) Mosman Jr. of Batavia; Daniel (Karen) Mosman of Boston, MA; son-in-law Jon Peterson of Rochester; sisters Vivian Kidder of Marilla, Phyllis Koblich of Clifton Park and Judith Prieto of Syracuse; brother Edward (Ann) Mosman of Alden; 11 grandchildren Zachary Smith, Chelsea (John) Dominick, Mary Kathryn (Ryan Bimont) Smith, Ryan (Lauren) Keifman, Kyle Keifman, Timothy Aymerich, Kara (Jose) Reyes, Honora Mosman, Sarah Mosman, Bridget Mosman and Erik Peterson; 2 great-grandchildren Emma Dominick and Evangeline Reyes.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday December 19, 2019 from 3:00-7:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, New York 14020. A 9:30AM Funeral Service will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at the Funeral Home. Mr. Mosman will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
