Michael A. McDonald

Batavia - Michael A. McDonald, 63, of Batavia, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, at his home.

Michael was born November 28, 1956, in Alexandria, VA, a son of the late William M. and Lorraine (Veringo) McDonald, Sr.

Michael retired with 35 years of service with the FBI Forensic Laboratory and proudly served six years with the United States Marines.  He was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish and the USMC League in Lockport.  Michael loved music, his guitars and his trusted companion, Gino.

Survivors include his wife of over 38 years, Valerie (Palone) McDonald of Batavia; a brother, William (Terry) McDonald, Jr. of Virginia; his father-in-law, Donald J. Palone of Oakfield; a brother-in-law, Dave (Debbie) Palone of Oakfield and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with his parents, Michael is predeceased by his mother-in-law, Josephine (Galline) Palone.

There are no prior calling hours.  Michael's Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish - St. Cecilia's Worship Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield.  Burial with military honors will be in St. Cecelia's Cemetery, Oakfield.

Memorial contributions in Michael's memory may be made to Volunteers for Animals, P.O. Box 1602, Batavia, New York 14021 as well as St. Cecelia's Cemetery Fund, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, NY 14125.
