Thelma "Ozzie" Getman Hay

Thelma “Ozzie” Getman Hay, 93 of Getzville, NY and formerly of Akron, passed away peacefully on Friday (March 27, 2020) at the Rosa Coplan Jewish Home and Infirmary (Weinberg Campus).

She was born November 1, 1926 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Fred and Helen Heller Hilbrecht.

Thelma was a clerk for Brooks Drugstore in Buffalo prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church in Akron and was a member of the Akron Newstead Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, cooking, square dancing with Theodore and country line dancing with Al. She was a mentor, friend and the life of every party. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Theodore Getman who died in 1974 and Albert Emerson Hay who died in 2011. She was also the sister of the late June Wysowaty.

Survivors include her four daughters, Elizabeth Riccio of West Seneca, Pamela (Melvin) Falker of Akron, Amy (Steve) Parke of Kempner, TX and JoAnne (Mark) Forbach of Williamsville. Two sons, Michael (Susan) Getman of Clifton and Theodore Getman Jr. of Amherst. Also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
