Mrs. Rose Cassiano

Oakfield - Rose Cassiano, 94, of Oakfield, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Facility.

Mrs. Cassiano was born January 29, 1926, in Rochester, daughter of the late Gaetano and Margaret Sellitto Bovenzi.

Rose was a longtime employee at the Oakfield-Alabama School District working as the cafeteria manager and a teacher's aide for children with special needs. A devoted and faithful member of St. Padre Pio Parish, Rose enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, jigsaw puzzles and reading Nicholas Sparks books. She had a "crush" on the original Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller.

Her husband, James B. Cassiano, passed away on December 9, 2015.

Survivors include her children: Coley J. (Meta) Cassiano of Summerfield, North Carolina, Guy A. (Deborah) Cassiano of Oakfield and John (Dana) Cassiano of Orchard Park; her son-in-law Patrick F. Reilly of East Aurora; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Ann Reilly, her sister, Mary Anne (late Nicholas) Aramino and her brother, Joseph (Judith) Bovenzi.

There will be no prior visitation.  Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rose's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
