Isabel M. "Bonnie" Gangi

LeRoy ~ Isabel M. "Bonnie" Gangi, age 93, of North Street, passed away Thursday afternoon (Sept. 24, 2020) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

    

She was born November 22, 1926 in Sugar Grove, PA, a daughter of the late Guy and Mabel Nelson.

     Isabel will be remembered as the loving and devoted matriarch of her large family.  Her life centered around them. She cherished the opportunity to entertain and prepare meals for her family and her love of sewing enabled her to make gifts for them.  She had a lifelong career as a registered nurse and cared for many people at various health care facilities in the area.  Over the years, she enjoyed square dancing and traveling.

     She will be sadly missed by her children; Nancy Robords of Dansville, Thomas (Sandra) Gangi of Alliance, OH, Joan (Quentin) Call of Stafford, Paul (Norma) Gangi of Dansville, Daniel (Lorrie) Gangi of LeRoy, Mary Margaret (John) Scanlan of Bergen, Steven Gangi of Elba and Judy (David) Warner of LeRoy; sister, Betty Lou Nuttall of Youngville, PA; brother, John Roy (Dorothy) Nelson of Minneapolis, MN, foster brother, Jim Marquis of Warren, PA; 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, very special cousins, Miles and Sally Nelson, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

     She was predeceased by the love of her life for 59 years, Sebastian Gangi in 2007, her sister, Cynthia Peterson and her brothers-in-law, Fred Peterson and Harold Nuttall.

     Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 ~ 8 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. (Funeral home occupancy will be limited to 33% capacity during the course of visitation and face masks are required.)    Her Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.  Interment will follow in Machpelah Cemetery.
