Martin Burshtynsky, 92, of Batavia, NY, formerly of Buffalo, Attica, Warsaw and Lockport, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

He is predeceased by his wife Alice (Lensky) Burshtynsky who died in 2004.

Martin is survived by his four children, Mark (Loma), Roberta “Bobbi/Bert” (Fran) Norton, Joy (Bill) Hume, and Linda (Larry) Bartlett. His grandchildren David (fiance’ Felicia Horton), Mark, Jr. (Jackie), Amanda Burshtynsky, Greg (Jill), Kristie Norton (fiance’ Christopher Paonessa), Lindsay (Jeff) Johnson, Brian (Danielle) Gardner, Larry (Ashley) Bartlett, and Burgundy (Mike) Maurer. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Martin was a veteran having served proudly in the Korean War. Marty loved the people at Havenwood Apartments and the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia, staff and residents alike. He loved socializing and telling stories to his friends and family. Marty spent years camping all over WNY with family. He loved the outdoors. Marty was a member of several Veteran Posts, including Post #624 Joseph Hriczko in Buffalo, Post #2535 in Lockport, Glenn S. Loomis NY Post #332 in Batavia, Post #532-Warsaw, VFW Post #6239-Alexander and many other various Lions, Legions, and Eagles Clubs.

It was Marty’s dream to be laid to rest in the WNY National Cemetery in Pembroke. With the long awaited opening of the Cemetery, Marty’s dream will be fulfilled. Private services for Martin Burshtynsky will be held for his immediate family.
